To find out where and when our adoption days will be held please look at our Calendar of Adoption Days . Each rescue group holds independent adoptions at different locations, so be sure to visit the adoption site of the rescue group that is the holder of the pet you're interested in. However, please realize that not all of the fosters can always be accommodated at each of our adoptions, so if you see a pet you are especially interested in, submit an online application. For information on a pending application, please click on the "contact" link on the specific dog, then click on the "e-mail" link. All applicants will be screened and an adoption fee is required. Pet Orphans' rescue groups do not ship or adopt pets out-of-state and many rescue groups prefer to adopt only in the metro Atlanta area.Please consider participating in our Pet Guardians program , a way to help sponsor an orphan pet of your choice.

11 1/2 months old, 40 lbs - (Born 11.15.09) Sabrina is as sweet as her little face looks. She is a quiet little angel who loves to play with her siblings and just hang out. She is a little shy of new things but warms up quickly. She loves going to adoptions and meeting all the new people but will bark at new dogs until they sniff each other. Sabrina spends her days hanging out in the sun or napping on her dog bed with her mom. She chews on toys and sticks but has always been a good girl and has never chewed on anything that wasn’t hers. She was totally housebroken by 4 months old as well. I still crate her when I leave b/c I have many dogs and can’t leave them free. She goes in her crate when told and never makes a peep. She would love to have someone to spoil her and cuddle with her and realize how awesome she is. No one ever looks are her or gives her a chance. Bojangles is a handsome 3½ year old boxer mix. He is a wonderful dog who was given up by his guardians when they no longer had time for him. He gets along well with other dogs and cats, and is respectful toward young children. He is well mannered in any social setting, obeys basic commands and is great on leash. He is energetic and would make a good jogging companion. He loves going on walks and exploring his environment. He rides calmly in the car has good house manners. Bojangles is very sweet, gentle and affectionate. He is happiest spending time with the family, whether indoors or out. He is a sociable dog and enjoys meeting new 'friends'. 7 months old, born 4.25.09, currently about 29lbs (so estimated to be 35 lbs as an adult -Dot is a doll baby and so named b/c she has one white dot on her back. She is very quiet and sweet and loves to sit in your lap when she is tired. She and her last remaining sibling, Ducky, spend all day playing and basking in the sun. When she is tired you can find her in her crate or on a dog bed or the end of the couch. She knows her name and the words “water”, “outside”, “puppies” (this one makes her come running), “Dot”, “Dottie”, “sit” and “bedtime”. Dot also goes in her crate when told and waits patiently for he special yummy treat. Dot need a pampering home, with no small kids b.c she is shy and loud kids will scare her. Date of birth: 4/1/2008. Cuatro is a handsome flat-coated retriever mix, around 40-50 lbs, who is looking for his forever home. He is really laid back and sweet, and just wants to cuddle quietly and be petted. Cuatro walks well on a leash, and seems to prefer walking through the neighborhood rather than on trails. He adores car rides and is very quiet in the car. Cuatro gets along extremely well with other dogs and cats, and likes hanging out at the dog park, though he is not a "runner." He really NEEDS a fenced yard to play in - the only times we really see him light up and wag his tail are when he is out playing. He would enjoy some well-adjusted doggie company, but it is not essential. Cuatro’s new favorite activity is chasing squirrels in the yard and barking at birds. He ignores toys, but loves pig ears, bones, and other chew treats. Cuatro is fine eating around the other dogs (no stealing or aggressive behavior). He is housebroken and does not need to be crated – a doggie blanket on the floor seems to be just fine. He needs someone who would be patient and continue to help him be more social. Mersey is a 4-year-old, 40-pound beauty. Mersey is predominantly black with lovely mottling in her coat. We think she is a Blue Heeler mix with the energy and grace that implies. Mersey is loving and loyal to her human friends. She plays well with other dogs, especially those of similar size and energy level. Smart and lively, Mersey has the makings of an excellent companion to the right family or person. She is best-suited for an all-adult home or one with older children. A fenced yard where she can run and play would be a huge plus. No small children, please, for Mersey.

(DOB 7/16/09) Hartman was found in the street on a rainy, cold day. He was freezing, starving, scared. Nevertheless, his spirit was strong and he wanted to live. In the short time he has been in our care, he is thriving and putting on weight. We named him Hartman, in memory of our dear friend and supporter Sandy Hartman who recently lost her battle to cancer. 1 1/2 yrs old, 25 lbs - Cocoa2 is part beagle and part cocker spaniel. He has the most lovingly sweet personality and a wiggly butt. He loves everyone who will talk to him and give him attention. He is very smart and is learning quickly. I have just started crate training him so he is in a crate at night and when I am not home. He seems 99\% housebroken but I think I just need to re-instill it in him in this new environment. He goes outside when told but wants me to go with him so that I don’t leave him outside. He really likes his rope toy and loves to play with his sister who was dumped with him (see Lola). They spend their days on the loveseat napping or playing with each other. Cocoa is good with the other dogs but will growl and bark a little in fear if they get in this face too quickly. He is great with kids. No Cats.History: Cocoa was dumped at the shelter by a mom with a child crying his eyes out. She dumped both of their dogs b/c they would not stay in her electric fence. She didn't blink and eye when she was told they would be killed immediately due to lack of space. Luckily we were there picking up another dog and we took these two. 3 1/2 yrs old, 50 lbs but she looks so much smaller in person!!! Lola loves to lay on her dog bed and chew on her toys or bones. She sits on command and at the vet she though everyone who walked in the door was there to see her. She doens't pull on leash but stands up and wiggles her butt to say hello there! She is great with other dogs and even gives them kisses in the face. Lola was dumped at the shelter by her family along with her beagle x brother, Cocoa2 (also listed). They stayed shoulder to shoulder the first day here but have gotten more independent. Oh Gilda, it’s impossible not to love you. This three-year-old Gilda Radner doesn’t have the wild-and-wooly mane of her namesake on the old “Saturday Night Live,” but she, too, aims to please, as her namesake did – most often! Date of birth: 5/16/2009. They just need someone to love them. Lilac and Lavender are an adorable, sweet and friendly pair of lab mix females, approx. 50-60 lbs. were found downtown in Atlanta, roaming the streets alone. The woman who found and is fostering them said, " They are so sweet and just want love and kisses. They are good with my dog who is around 7. She is an alpha dog. They just wanted to play but they knew not to really bug her. I am trying to stop the jumping on people but they will sit when I tell them to. I would think they would be good with kids. Born on 6/11/05, We have 2 boys and 1 girl available for adoption. Pattycake is black, as well as her brother Hank. Their mother is red in color and only 25 lbs. She looks like a small terrier mix. These puppies appear to be terrier/lab mixes and are full grown at 25 lbs. They are current on all shots and are spayed and neutered. They are all very funny with huge personalities, ONCE THEY KNOW YOU. They are incredibly shy at first! They all live in a boarding kennel and are desperate for a home or foster home! AREN'T I BEAUTIFUL AND CUDDLY? Ace or Max (has been called both) is half Shepherd and half Collie. He is about 1 year old neutered male and he is a beautiful dog. Murray was walking along the road by himself, sure to be hit by a car. The director rolled her passenger window down, whistled to the dog, and Murray flashed a bright big smile, ran over the car, and jumped into the passenger seat! Cooper is a 4 year old neutered male Fox Terrier Mix who is fully vetted, fully housebroken and crate trained. Due to a variety of circumstances Cooper needs a new home. He has been through basic obedience and is intelligent and responsive and LOVES people. Born 11.15.08, 1 yr old, 44 lbs - Caleb is not your typical 1 yr old lab mix. Everyone sees his age and breed and assumes he is hyperactive. He is the most laid back lab mix I have ever met, with exception of his siblings. Mom is your average little medium size black dog and very laid back herself. Caleb is shy of new people at first and shys away but he is quick to make friends and is full of love. He loves to be in the same room with me and comes up and puts his head on my lap for love. He is a happy go lucky boy who listens very very well. He goes in his crate "bed" when told and he comes when called. He even gives lots of goodnight kisses. caleb also loves to go on car rides and just hang out with his foster mom. He is great with other dogs, scared of the cat and good with kids. Shenango is a purebred beagle. She has a brown and white coat and is about 8 years old. Shenango weighs 30lbs. My collar was so tight that I have scarring on my throat. When my guardian moved, he left me behind on the chain with no food and green, stagnant water. There was a large, tennis ball sized tumor hanging from my hip that was open and weeping, drawing flies in the stiffling summer heat. I am so friendly and outgoing though, you'd never know that I had such a sad existence for most of my life. I am in a loving foster home now, but I can't stay there too much longer. They are moving out of the country soon and I will need a forever home. I get along fine with most other dogs and older children. Sophie is an extremely happy and playful dog in spite of the tough road she took getting to me. I rescued her from Coweta County Animal Control where she was dumped with her puppies. She was very depressed when hers pups were taken from her and she only had two days to live when I saved her. 7-8 months old, 48 lbs - Noelle is sweet, loving and very playful. She also listens well, knows sit and down. She loves to play with toys and puts her butt in the air happily with elbows on the ground. She loves to play with the other dogs and is very gentle no matter what their size. 8 yrs old, 30 lbs (needs to lose weight) - Mikey is happy, rolly polly beagle boy. He spends his days on the bed or couch napping or looking out the window waiting, longing for his daily walk. He loves to go for walks and knows his schedule. If you get off schedule he will whimper and dance by the door to let you know “hey, lets go!”. Mikey loves everyone he meets. He is good, gentle and loves to play with the other dogs. He likes to torment the cats so no kitties for him. He is great with kids and would love to have a boy to run with or a girl to dress him up. At the same time he might also love to just have a nice person to hang out with and retire. 4 years old, 34 lbs -There is so much to say about this wonderful little girl with a spirit that can't be broken. She is loving, very kissy, very cuddly, smart and playful. She thinks she weights 10 lbs and should be a lap dog. Since coming to us, Jillian is the happiest dog on earth! She was totally housebroken, can sit, lay down and crawl on command. She obviously had a family at some point but they either dumped her or left her behind. she spends her days playing with her doggie friends and is constantly cleaning thier faces and ears like the good mommy she once was. She will need a home with another dog as she gets very upset when left alone but when she has another dog she is fine. She needs a home who will NOT leave her outside unattended for long periods or she won't be there when you go back out. 2 1/2 yrs old, 38 lbs - Raven is a happy wiggly little dancer. She is so sweet and a perfect angel. She loves everyone she meets and when you talk to her she wiggles her whole body and his little back feet even come off the ground in a little dance. It is precious! Raven is good with other dogs and loves to get attention. She has obviously never had toys b/c she doesn't seem to have any interest in them at all. She just loves to be around her person. 7 months old, 40 lbs -Cookie is a very sweet, loving and very smart girl. She has learned to sit for love and attention. She loves to lay at my feet when I am on the computer and nap or chew on her bone. She is a gentle soul and loves all the other dogs, big or small. She loves to run and play in the yard or wrestle in the living room floor. She is always smiling. She listens well, comes when called and goes in her crate on command. She will need to be crated for a few more months until she gets out of her puppy stage. She is really good about not chewing but on occasion she forgets and I just give her a toy she can have. She will require a TALL fenced yard b/c she will climb a short one. If you have children, you need a fence, if you do not, active leash walking may be enough for her. as long as she gets lots of love! Buddy is a 4.5-year-old medium-sized German Shephard mix, neutered and current on all shots. He's very friendly and loves to play, run, and take hikes. Buddy is fully house-trained, and used to being crated (very large crate) when in the house - because my husband is allergic to dogs, he transitioned (surprisingly easily) from being allowed the run of my apartment to staying in the crate during indoor periods when we got married. Dislikes include having his nails clipped (sensitive about front paws, I take him to PetSmart for baths etc) and puddles of water (but he loves baths). I would prefer that Buddy have a fenced yard to play in, as he does now. Buddy will make a fantastic pet/companion for a young and active adult, he loves to play and enjoys company and has a wonderful disposition :)

Chika Panera is one beautiful dog, with black fur, brown legs and muzzle and cute flippy ears. The four-year-old mixed breed weighs 38 pounds. This sweetheart has seen tough times. 1 1/2yr, 35 lbs, Bowie is doing great! He is a sweet, smart, loving little guy with a wiggly butt and a zest for life. He loves absolutley everyone he meets and gets very attached to his person. At adoptions he doesn't show well b/c although he kisses everyone, if they try to walk him away from me, he pulls and drags them back. It is hard to express how he will do the same for his new family once he gets adopted! He has had a tough start, living outside on a carport and allowed to run free with little love or attention. However, he certainly thrives on it now. Bowie was hit by a car and left laying in his yard for 2 days. He has since had knee surgery and is going 90 miles a hour. He loves to romp and play with his doggie friends. He can get a little rough penning down the little ones but when they scream he lets them go and looks around to see if anyone's saw that it was his fault! Bowie loves to curl up in a ball and sleep on a soft dog bed or his favorite chair. He is the king of pitiful looks if you try to move him too. He will need joint supplements all of his life or food with Glucosamine in it just to help keep his knee strong and working smoothly but other then that, Bowie is 100\%. This dog is housebroken and crate trained. This dog gets on the furniture. All dogs are fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, spayed/neutered and microchipped. Date of birth: 5/16/2009. I'm Lavender - the sweetest, smartest, lab mix you will ever see. In just a few short weeks, I have gained 8 much needed pounds and I look more beautiful everyday! Now, I am almost 60 pounds with a soft coat. I don't even mind bath time! Although I'm full of energy and desperately need regular play and long walks, I will also lay at your feet just to be near you. I am so thankful to be off the cold, icy streets. 4 yrs old, 36 lbs - Mazie is the best of both worlds. She is loving and cuddly yet she loves to play. She loves toys and chewies and can spend hours just playing all by herself. 1 1/2 yrs old, 45 lbs- Indy is adorable and loves to be hugged. She flutters her eye lashes and tucks her head and looks so pitiful you can't help put hug her. She knows how to work it! 11 1/2 months old, 47 lbs (Born 11.15.09), -Patrick is a wonderfully smart boy. He loves to come up and put his head on my lap for love. He also loves to play with the other dogs or lay around and chew on a bone. He spends his days hanging out with his mom and siblings in the yard or laying on his dog bed chewing on a bone or toy. Patrick comes when called and goes in his crate "bed" when told. (I still crate him only b/c I have so many dogs). He loves his treats and expects one each time he goes to bed. :) He is such a great dog. He doesn't jump and he just likes to hang out. Patrick is NOT leash trained. He just doesn't seem to want to walk. He walks about 20 feet then sits down and starts looking around! LOL He is shy of new poeple and will bark initially and run if they come at him too quickly.
